Saving Smiles Weedon, The Wheatsheaf, The Plume of Feathers & The Maltsters Arms are proud to have joined forces along with friends and family to participate in the 10K race for life Walk/Jog/Run to support cancer research.
At one time or another whether we like it or not the big ‘C’ touches all of us in some way, it’s something none of us want to encounter or wish on anyone else but unfortunately it is a daily conversation for some people.
With this in mind, this year we entered ‘Race for Life’ as a ‘Team of Divas’ who have one common goal, to beat Cancer!
An extraordinary entry of 52 divas enrolled as Team of Divas to support our enthusiastic organizer Shirley Mills who’s daughter has recently been touched by the big C.
After several bouts of intensive treatments, which are now completed she’s now awaiting test results.
In a way to celebrate the treatment completion, the community of Weedon has come together and bravely participated in this 10K race for life.
This courageous lady, not only has brought the community together but has also managed to more than double the fund raising campaign!
